Mental Restlessness (Vashistha)

Wherever one looks, there is no movement in this world without mind. Restlessness is the quality of mind, just like heat is the quality of fire.

By the power of renunciation, which dissolves the mind together with ignorance and the endless subconscious tendencies, one attains supreme good.

Through practice, the mind reaches whatever condition it is focussed upon with manly effort, and then becomes it.

O Rama, if the mind, which is immersed in contemplation of existence, is not forcibly uplifted by means of mind alone, then there is not other means.

Only the mind, O Raghava, is capable of firmly restraining the mind; for who is capable of disciplining the king if not king?
