Laws of Spiritual Success

From Deepak Chopra...

There are many aspects to success; material wealth is only one component. Moreover, success is a journey, not a destination. Material abundance, in all its expressions, happens to be one of those things that makes the journey more enjoyable. But success also includes good health, energy and enthusiasm for life, fulfilling relationships, creative freedom, emotional and psychological stability, a sense of well-being and peace of mind. Even with the experience of all these things, we will remain unfulfilled unless we nurture the seeds of divinity inside us. In reality, we are divinity in disguise, and the gods and goddesses in embryo that are contained within us seek to be fully materialized. Although I call the laws I'm about to discuss The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, they could easily be called The Seven Spiritual Laws of Life. This is because they are the same principles that nature uses to create everything in material existence--everything we can see, hear, smell, taste or touch.Success in life could be defined as the continued expansion of happiness and the progressive realization of worthy goals. Success is the ability to fulfill your desires with effortless ease. And yet success, including the creation of wealth, has always been considered a process that requires hard work, and it is often considered to be at the expense of others. We need a more spiritual approach to success and to affluence, which is the abundant flow of all good things to you. With the knowledge and practice of spiritual law, we put ourselves in harmony with nature and create with carefreeness, joy and love. True success is the experience of the miraculous. It is the unfolding of the divinity within us. It is the perception of divinity wherever we go, in whatever we perceive--in the eyes of a child, in the beauty of a flower, in the flight of a bird. When we begin to experience our life as the miraculous expression of divinity--not occasionally, but all the time--then we will know the true meaning of success. Now let's go over The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success and see how we can apply them in our lives.

1) The Law of Pure Potentiality

This law is based on the fact that we are, in our essential state, pure consciousness. Pure consciousness is pure potentiality; it is the field of all possibilities and infinite creativity. When you discover your essential nature and know who you really are, in that knowing itself is the ability to fulfill any dream you have, because you are the eternal possibility, the immeasurable potential of all that was, is and will be. This law could also be called the Law of Unity, because underlying the infinite diversity of life is the unity of one all-pervasive spirit. There is no separation between you and this field of energy. One way to access the field is through the daily practice of silence, meditation and non-judgment. Spending time in nature will also give you access to the qualities inherent in the field: infinite creativity, freedom and bliss.

2) The Law of Giving

This law could also be called the Law of Giving and Receiving, because the universe operates through dynamic exchange. The flow of life is nothing other than the harmonious interaction of all the elements and forces that structure the field of existence. Because your body and your mind and the universe are in constant and dynamic change, stopping the circulation of energy is like stopping the flow of blood. Whenever blood stops flowing, it begins to clot, to stagnate. That is why you must give and receive in order to keep wealth and affluence--or anything you want--circulating in your life. If our only intention is to hold on to our money and hoard it--since it's life energy, we will stop its circulation back into our lives as well. In order to keep that energy coming to us, we have to keep the energy circulating. Thus, the more you give, the more you will receive. The best way to put The Law of Giving into operation is to make a decision that any time you come into contact with anyone, you will give them something. It doesn't have to be in the form of material things; it could be a flower, a compliment or a prayer. In fact, the most powerful forms of giving are non-material. The gifts of caring, attention, affection, appreciation and love are some of the most precious gifts you can give, and they don't cost you anything.

3) The Law of Karma (or Cause and Effect)

"Karma" is both action and the consequence of that action; it is cause and effect simultaneously, because every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in kind. There is nothing unfamiliar about the Law of Karma. Everyone had heard the expression, "What you sow is what you reap." Obviously, if we want to create happiness in our lives, we must learn to sow the seeds of happiness. Therefore, karma implies the action of conscious choice-making. Whether you like it or not, everything that is happening at this moment is a result of the choices you've made in the past. Unfortunately, a lot of us make choices unconsciously, and therefore we don't think they are choices--and yet, they are. If you step back for a moment and witness the choices you are making as you make those choices, then in just this act of witnessing, you take the whole process from the unconscious realm into the conscious realm. This procedure of conscious choice-making and witnessing is very empowering. You can use the Law of Karma to create money and affluence, and the flow of all good things to you, any time you want. But first, you must become consciously aware that your future is generated by the choices you are making in every moment of your life. If you do this on a regular basis, then you are making full use of this law. The more you bring your choices into the level of your conscious awareness, the more you will make those choices which are spontaneously correct--both for you and those around you.

4) The Law of Least Effort

This law is based on the fact that nature's intelligence functions with effortless ease and abandoned carefreeness. This is the principle of least action, of no resistance. This is, therefore, the principle of harmony and love. When we learn this lesson from nature, we easily fulfill our desires. In Vedic Science, the age-old philosophy of India, this principle is known as the principle of economy of effort, or "do less and accomplish more." Ultimately, you come to the state where you do nothing and accomplish everything. This means that there is just a faint idea, and then the manifestation of the idea comes about effortlessly. What is commonly called a "miracle" is actually an expression of the Law of Least Effort. Least effort is expended when your actions are motivated by love, because nature is held together by the energy of love. When you seek power and control over other people, you waste energy. When you seek money or power for the sake of the ego, you spend energy chasing the illusion of happiness instead of enjoying happiness in the moment. When your actions are motivated by love, your energy multiplies and accumulates--and the surplus energy you gather and enjoy can be channeled to create anything that you want, including unlimited wealth. There are three components to the Law of Least Effort--three things you can do to put this principle of "do less and accomplish more" into action. The first component is acceptance. Acceptance simply means that you make a commitment: "Today I will accept people, situations, circumstances and events as they occur." This means I will know that this moment is as it should be, because the whole universe is as it should be. The second component is responsibility. This means not blaming anyone or anything for your situation, including yourself. This allows you the ability to have a creative response to the situation as it is now. All problems contain the seeds of opportunity, and this awareness allows you to take the moment and transform it to a better situation or thing. The third component to the Law of Least Effort is defenselessness. This means that you have relinquished the need to convince or persuade others of your point of view. If you relinquish this need you will in that relinquishment gain access to enormous amounts of energy that have been previously wasted.

5) The Law of Intention and Desire

This law is based on the fact that energy and information exist everywhere in nature. A flower, a rainbow, a tree, a human body, when broken down to their essential components are energy and information. The whole universe, in its essential nature, is the movement of energy and information. The only difference between you and a tree is the informational and energy content of your respective bodies. You can consciously change the energy and informational content of your own quantum mechanical body, and therefore influence the energy and informational content of your extended body--your environment, your world--and cause things to manifest in it. The quality of intention on the object of attention will orchestrate an infinity of space-time events to bring about the outcome intended, provided one follows the other spiritual laws of success. Intention lays the groundwork for the effortless, spontaneous, frictionless flow of pure potentiality. The only caution is that you use your intent for the benefit of mankind.

6) The Law of Detachment

This law says that in order to acquire anything in the physical universe, you have to relinquish your attachment to it. This doesn't mean you give up the intention to create your desire. You give up your attachment to the result. This is a very powerful thing to do. The moment you relinquish your attachment to the result, combining one-pointed intention with detachment at the same time, you will have that which you desire. Anything you want can be acquired through detachment, because detachment is based on the unquestioning belief in the power of your true Self. Attachment comes from poverty consciousness, because attachment is always to symbols. Detachment is synonymous with wealth consciousness, because with detachment there is freedom to create. True wealth consciousness is the ability to have anything you want, anytime you want, and with least effort. To be grounded in this experience you have to be grounded in the wisdom of uncertainty. In this uncertainty you will find the freedom to create anything you want.

7) The Law of "Dharma" or Purpose in Life

The seventh spiritual law of success is the Law of Dharma. (Dharma is a Sanskrit word that means "purpose in life.") This law says that we have taken manifestation in physical form to fulfill a purpose. You have a unique talent and a unique way of expressing it. There is something that you can do better than anyone else in the whole world--and for every unique talent and unique expression of that talent, there are also unique needs. When these needs are matched with the creative expression of your talent, that is the spark that creates affluence. Expressing your talents to fulfill needs creates unlimited wealth and abundance. There are three components to the Law of Dharma. The first says that each of us is here to discover our true Self. The second component is to express our unique talents; the expression of that talent takes you into timeless awareness. The third component is service to humanity. When you combine the ability to express your unique talent with service to humanity, then you make full use of the Law of Dharma. The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success are powerful principles that will enable you to attain self-mastery. If you put your attention on these laws and practice the steps outlined above, you will see that you can manifest anything you want--all the affluence, money and success you desire. You will also see that your life becomes more joyful and abundant in every way, for these laws are also the spiritual laws of life that make living worthwhile.

The Brain that Shapes Itself

Brain development is Organic! Our brain never stops evolving. Give it stimulus and it learns, adapts, and re-wires itself to respond appropriately.

How exactly it does it?

Stimulus --> Reaction --> Development

Reaction:
Neurons Fire

Development:
Neuron Wire

We develop our right brains first until about 3 years of age. Till that time left brain development doesn't happen.

Managing Chaos

Whether it's your workplace or your personal relationships; whether you run a large organisation, a small business, a tiny team or simply your own life - the tools you need now are for managing chaos.

1. Know the "I" Start by considering a hurricane, or a cyclone … utter chaos, causing great devastation. Think of the centre. Calm, peaceful, quiet. The eye. Think of it as yourself. You may not be able to stop or even control the wind and the noise around you. But you can retain your own centre. Find your strength, your capabilities, your power and your value, and stand quietly in your own ability to respond to each situation with courage and wisdom. We all have it. We just forget it sometimes when the winds of change are howling around us.

2. Know What Matters "The first rule of success, and the one that supersedes all others, is to have energy. It is important to know how to concentrate it and focus it on the important things, instead of frittering it away on trivia." (Michael Korda)
The most powerful thing you can do at any moment is re-focus. What do you want to achieve? Why is this important?

3. Nurture your network No man is an island, nor a woman either. We operate best when interdependent. Not leaning, but supported. It may be time to re-value family, to re-assess social contacts, to re-energise team consciousness in the workplace. One of the keys to managing chaos is the ability to tap into support facilities. Productivity almost invariably increases when we delegate, leverage and pull together.

4. Courage to tell the truth This may not be so for you, but for many people an enormous amount of time and energy is wasted in developing and maintaining the mask. There's no time any more to do that - have you noticed? It's time for 'empowerment' (the CPB word for claiming your own power, rather than grabbing it from others).

5. Learn to live with less This is a strange concept for many of us in business who have spent much of our working lives running after 'more'. When life moves fast, the less baggage we have to carry the better. Travelling light - in many ways - becomes more effective.
We're discovering that a simpler life can be a lot less stressful. Not to decry wealth and its pleasures - just to eliminate the desperate struggle for it!

6. Rejoice regularly A behavioural researcher visited a kindergarten. "How many of you can sing," he asked? All hands went up. "How many of you can paint?" Again all hands were proudly thrust in the air. "And, how many can dance?" "Me, me, me," was the answer. The researcher asked the same questions in a university lecture hall. "How many of you can sing?" Two hands. "How many of you can paint?" Not one. "And how many can dance?" Fingers were pointed at others, with comments and laughter, but not one claimed the ability. What happened? Why did we forget, or decide our own self-expression was not good enough? It's just about a joyful release of stress hormones - good for the mind, the soul and the body.

7. Choose care over fear I first learned it from Marianne Williamson, who wrote the beautiful words Nelson Mandela used in his inaugural address. There are only two fundamental emotions - love and fear. Anything that isn't one is the other. Until recently, we didn't talk about this in the corporate arena. Now we know, tough love builds good teams, and chaos is exacerbated by fear. This is not about being soft and gooey - you know that. It's about finding a way to address issues head on with an intelligent mix of courage commitment and compassion.

Chaos is inevitable. In the sense that perturbation is evolutionary, it's also desirable. But managing it is essential. It's no use for any of us to hope that someone else will do it. Do you have your own personal strategies in place?

Grappling with start of manifestation...

To get started with a life that one wants to have, one must put oneself in a state of bliss, happiness by doing whatever one's heart likes.

That makes the heart happy, full, and elated.

Feeling ecstastic :)

Then in that state, you are making the universe happy, by being in it, and completing its purpose which is to enjoy and be happy and celebrate. In return you can ask for what you want, and you shall be rewarded :)

The Secret

Attract what you want in your life by following simple steps:

Feel happy for all the things that you already have in your life.
Feel the graditude, the thankfullness from your heart.

Ask for it. Place an order in the universe's catalog.

Beleive in it that you can have it, do it, get it, no matter what.
Take the first step in doing it. You don't need to know all the steps.
Feel that it is already yours, that you are already there, that you have already done it. Fake it, and feel good and happy about having it.
Visualize that you have it, or that you are in that situation, or that you have already become what you wanted to become.
Paint it out, get pictures of it, put it out in your surroundings.
All the time feel happy and upbeat

Receive it

Act on any thoughts you get, impulses, and intuitions you receive. Pick up any signals you get. Act on them.

CAUTION:

Thoughts are creating the reality of this universe. Thoughts become things. We are all the time in creation process by our thoughts.

We create our reality literally ourselves in our mind.

What we are now is the result of manifestation of our past thoughts.
What we will be depends on our thoughts.

To not attract any negative things, consciously eliminate all negatives in your thoughts, talk, expression, and communication. This is so that negative things do not get our attention at all. If they don't get our attention, they'll never happen.

Whatever gets our attention manifests.

Art of Living Sutras

Drop your ego, just let it go...you are not your ego.

Holding on to things is the root cause of misery. Bring you awareness inwards, to things you are holding on to, and just let go

Take everything that happened to you as a blessing!
Getting into something is a blessing, getting out of something is also a blessing.

Happiness is in making others happy, and in serving others. When you do seva (service to others) the divine streams through you. Seva opens you up.

Bring you mind to the present moment by observing your breath. The present moment is the best moment to live.

Craving and aversion cause trouble -- I want this, and I do not want that. This is good for me, and that is bad for me. Just be with whatever is. Getover this mental chaos.

Just bring you awareness to areas in your body that are having pain....and accept it, do not resent it. Awareness itself heals.

Welcome any problems that you get. Do not battle with them. Do not resent to the problem. Surrender to the problem.

When meditating do nothing, do not intend to do anything, just observe and let go of any gripping thoughts, just watch and float along with thoughts...

The moment of happiness is when your mind is empty, you are hands are in seva, and your heart is full.

As you go inwards in meditation, in your higher self, you start manifesting qualities of that higher self.

To go into your inner higher self, you need to meditate regularly.

Ther higher self knows what is happening everywhere.....

Fake it until you make it. This like developing a conscious habit of faking something you want to be until you really become that something, and there is no longer any faking.

Everything goes to same lord. If you serve any person it is serving the same god! There is no difference between helping your family or a stranger.

Things change. They don't remain the same forever. There is power in this concept!

If you are at a high it will change, if you are at a low it will change.

Change is the nature of the universe.

So realizing this, one doesn't need to feel stuck with a certain situation because it is bad or stick to a certain situation because it is good.

Being centered in your self gives you power. Don' t lose your center.

The center is the center of good and bad, love and hate, happiness and sadness...and so on. Be in it all the time. If you get away from the center you will get caught up in the whirlpool of change.

The center is detached from all changes. It is the perfect vantage point.

To deal with the whirlwind of problems...

Prepare yourself with "So Hum.." , and "So What?" -- these two are great enablers :)

Getting close to God can make you Happy

I found it interesting that when we do something, we must connect to it fully to enjoy it.

Connect to your Work, to your Home, to your Friends, Connect to your Driving, when taking a shower, and to trillions of trivial things we do daily.

When we connect to something, we are creating a bonding between 2 things. We are becoming that thing, and that thing is becoming us.

Can we connect to something which doesn't exist? Like some concept? That's how our beliefs are instantiated -- we are strongly connected to certain concepts.

And we proudly call them as our beleifs. So how can we get close or connect to the soul of universe?

Art of Living...

Attended art of living class from June 17th - June 22th, in San Jose California.

Very Refreshing!

I BELONG TO YOU to everyone you meet :)

The seven levels of existence:

Breath
Body
Mind
Intellect
Memories
Ego
Self

The sutras:

-The present moment is inevitable
-Opposite values are complementary, the good & bad, happiness and sadness,
-Reponsibility is taken, and not given
-Accept people and situations as they are
-Don't see intentions behind (or judge) others mistakes, otherwise you will be in tension
-Don't be a football of others opinions, be centered in your self

The way to live life that leads to fullfillment:

saadhna - charge yourself
satsang - know how the network operates
seva - be an instrument of God in serving others
love & smile -

Take a deep breath in, connect, and let go....

Questions to ponder over:

What makes you happy?
When will you be happy, exactly in what time duration?
What are you reponsible for?
What are you not not reponsible for?

When did you come to this planet?
How long do you plan to stay?
What do you want to do during you existense here?

Who are you? X 20 times
What are you?
Where are you?

What do you do to bring the divine in others?
What have you done for you own fullfillment?

The sound of OM - unifying us with the creator (Brahma), preserver (Vishnu), destroyer (Mahesh)

-Shalom
-Amen

The FUN in yoga :)
